Chris
I was having some of the preliminary work done on my Big Red rear brake
upgrade and traded cars with Dave Jones this past weekend. His car has the stock 5
speed and linkage. My car has a CRB 6 speed and the Brendan Rudak short shift
kit with the Amoroso lead filled shaft. I have also cut down the shift lever
another 1.25". This setup gives me about a 45% reduction in shift throw and the
feel is simply amazing. While driving Dave's car I was struck at how much
slack is in the stock setup. This is not an easy mod as it, I believe, requires
the dropping of the tranny. If any of you are near clutch replacement time I
would highly recommend this mod. Brendan modifies a new linkage and the cost is
about $300 including the linkage. If any of you want a side by side pic of the
linkage and/or a pic of the leaded shaft, let me know.
