[s-cars] Windows XP problems.. HELP NAC

I have a weird problem,

My computer did not want to shut down, it displayed saving settings for
over 10 minutes and then I finally reset it. After re-starting it
wanted chkdsk to be run, skipped past that and all of a sudden it wants
a logon password. I have never set up any passwords on this machine.

I re-set the computer again, ran chkdsk and it still wants a logon
password.

HELP!!! Any ideas on what to do... using the Windows XP setup Cd's
installation recovery Ican logon as administrator open up the
directories...but it is in a dos like enviroment. Is there any way I
cna repair what is going on here?

Does anybody know of a Windows XP password recovery program?

Something else I have discovered is that it isn't failing upon entering
or not entering a correct password. And I have NEVER set up a password
on this computer.

Whether I enter a password or not I get the following error:

The System Cannot Logon because the domain CHRIS is not available.

This happens when I try to logon via administrator or the user it
prompts with the id Christopher.


I am begining to believe there is a much bigger problem here.

Any help would be great!
