Jerry,

That is the part # for Audi's synthetic transmission fluid, so Audi is 
simply specifying their own lubricant and no others.  The SAE spec is 
75w90 but Audi will not disclose the API rating for that lubricant.  
Audi does specify SAE 90w, API GL5 for the rear differential.  I would 
not hesitate to use the AMSOIL GL5 if there was a reason to do so, ie, 
poor shifting or noise.  Otherwise, I don't plan to change the fluid 
often enough to worry about the cost difference.  I do admit I was 
somewhat put out to find the Audi price at $21/liter.:-)
