[s-cars] 95 vs 95.5

Hmmm, excellent point about the tranny,
I had thought that change was made a bit
earlier than 08/95 but I could be wrong??
Other than that, the reason I say 95 is
better than 95.5s is because I personally
think the EDL is a major downgrade. The
95 gets most of the cosmetic goodies, other
than those you mentioned, but keeps the
preferred mechcanical differential lock.
Arguably, a purist would say the 92 was
the best because of the sway bar/abs-off
switch, trip computer, etc...
Cheers,
Dan

Subject: Re: [s-cars] S8 replacement for urS4 ? Euro specs
Dan,
I am interested in this as well, but do have a question/correction w/
regard to the S6 preference. The 95.5's have several nice features
"most" of the 95's do not ( a whole 'nother long, long story as to when
the changes happened), but, as i know it the 95.5's all got:
- the S6 after build date ~8/95 (or the 95".5"'s) got transmissions with
a wider first gear (to eliminate the tooth galling problem suffered
in some of the earlier
years...)
- EDL introduced to the cars drive train.
- different stereo head unit
- stainless door entries
- chrome ring on shift knob
- middle sun visor
- all windows w/ express down
- chrome handbrake button
- and a lucky few got the really, really cool "avant" feature ;)
not saying we all don't have our preferences ;) , but why would you say
the 95 has a better combination of stock goodies over the 95.5? please,
someone out on the almighty s-list correct me if i am mistaken here.
also, if you do find relevant info about the preferred euro urS8,
please, please post it!
sincerely,
matt ludwig.
