So I went back to emissions with my Coupe Q today....and passed easily.

My original HC reading was 351 ppm versus 220 ppm allowed, my retest HC
reading was 136 ppm.  How did I accomplish this?  By changing the oil.
Everything else was the same; the only difference is the oil.  Of course, I
did spend several hours testing various emissions related components last
weekend, but no problems were found, and no changes were made.  I'm cranky
that I wasted the time on this, but at least I didn't waste any money.

BTW, there were a few tense moments when I realized that the kid.. er,
"technician" was planning on running the car on the dyno - the two wheel
dyno.  "It's not all wheel drive unless that switch on the center console is
on, right?"  Um, no.
