Lee;

The usual source of this chirp is a dry outer heim joint on the rear
suspension upper link. Lots of fixes - remove the dust boot and inject
grease, use a hypodermic grease needle to inject grease through the boot,
drill the joint body and inject grease ( this one was a bit contentious last
week). Bounce the car up and down at each rear corner - if this joint is dry
you'll hear it creak.

Subject: Chirp from rear suspension

I'm getting a chirping noise from the rear suspension of my S6 avant when I
go over bumps. The car has an Eibach/Bilstein setup and has a Happersized
rear bar.

It seemed to start when I had an alignment done about a week ago. I also put
my summer tires on about 2-3 weeks ago.

Thoughts?
