I'd recommend slotted rotors. The cross-drilled ones tend to crack at the
holes and you have to watch them like a hawk. If one fragments on you at
speed, it will do all sorts of damage.

I'm planning on a brake rotor upograde. I will keep the stock calipers as
these were new when I purchased the car, but I've been looking at different
types of rotors.
I've noticed that on some race cars, inc WRX rally and Audi track cars, that
only use slotted discs and not cross-drilled. So is there a consensus that
only slotted rotors are better than cross-drilled or cross-drilled with
slots.
Appreciate your thoughts on the subjuct.
