[s-cars] electrical question

This is an incomplete answer but you should know that the CD changer is always powered, i.e. with the keys still in your hand and standing by the open trunk, you can activate the 10 disc cassette ejection button and the changer will comply. My guess is there is a momentary voltage drop that goes through this always on circuit when you turn on the HID headlights The silver transceiver box sees this drop in voltage as a signal from the head unit (MODE button) to turn the CD off. Hitting the MODE button once resets the radio to ON, hitting it the second time turns the function back to the CD changer.

But that's just a guess.
