Catchy title, wasn't it? Here I am at all of 12,000ft in a little ATR 72 on
my way to the Bahamas. I thought I'd throw some more driving impressions out
there so if you don't want to hear go ahead and delete this e-mail. In case you
weren't watching the weather last week, Denver got hit with a nice little snow
storm. There was a lot more snow up Evahboost way but the best part was the
cool temperatures. Speaking of the Evahboost snow, I had put on a new set of
Toyo T1Ss several weeks ago. My wife informed me that we got about 16 inches of
snow but the roads were clear. Clear that is until I got to my driveway. There
was what remained of the snow, packed and slushy on my long climbing
driveway. Well, up the driveway I went with nary a burp or, slide as the case may be.
So, I can recommend the Toyos in emergency snow use.
Back to the cool driving. The temperature Saturday morning was 32 degrees and
the car with its new fueling system and larger injectors and new custom
programming was awesome. It is simply violent as it accelerates. When I got to the
airport, I pulled off to emplyee parking on a secondary road that some of you
may remember from years ago in another muse concerning a Delta Captain and his
new Porsche C4S. I'm still on a quest for a tubular exhaust manifold if
anyone sees one out there.
I want you guys to be thinking of me the next 2 weekends because I have 2
track events back to back. On Sunday the 2nd of May I'm at 2nd Creek Raceway in
Denver with the Rocky Mountain BMWCCA. Someone has to get out there and play
with those M5s and M3s. That will be a good warm-up for the next weekend when I
go to Pike Peak International Raceway for some type of open track day with a
bunch of NASA guys and ASW customers. This was an invitational event and there
will be lots of eye and track candy such as Vipers, Ferraris, Z06 Vettes,
Porsches, plus who knows what else. I'm in the 2nd from the top run group and
there's supposed to be a few full race cars in that group. The top group will just
about be all race cars such as several Porsche GT3 Cup cars. That's all for
now kids.
Hap, lookin to go gunnin in Evahboost, Maguire
