Taka,

I see you are talking about a soft brake pedal. I think that Fred is right
about using the handbrake. However, I have found that if you keep the
handbrake assembly on the rear caliper lubricated regularly, it will help, I have
also found that if you bled the rear brakes with the car level on the ground,
the pedal will be firmer. Our cars capture air and bad brake fluid in the rear.
The rear brake pads should also not be allowed to get too low.

I was getting a soft pedal regularly from overheating the rear brakes at the
track. By just bleeding the rears, the pedal would immediately firm up.
Since I went with slotted rotors, and removed the splash shields on the rear, the
overheating has disappeared. I feel that the slotted rotors help to
dissipate the water, so the shields become redundant. In the rain at Watkins Glen I
had no problems with the rears.

BTW, when I say a problem has gone away, it could be only temporary. The
faster you go at the track the more likely you are to have a new or old problem
rear its' ugly head :(

Regards,

Robert
