[s-cars] BIRA vs Big Red (ECS2, etc)

Taka;

My pedal feel improves when I rebuild the rear calipers (clean & lube
once/year) and slowly deteriorates from there. The 996 calipers will
definitely improve feel because it eliminates the flex in the front
calipers. I guess the ultimate in feel would be with fixed caliper rears as
well!

Fred-
Do you think that the rear brake "slop" has that much to do with
the pedal feel?

My pedal feel improved noticeably when changing from UFOs to 996
monoblock
calipers.

Yes, Taka, I think a good part of the "soft" pedal on our cars is spent
in taking up "slop" in the caliper systems. A part of this can be
alleviated by using the parking brake regularly - that keeps the "slop"
in the rear calipers at a minimum.
