Overall mileage is slightly better in my RS2'd S6 Avant (21-22 mpg) than my
stock 86 5ktq (19-20 mpg), and I drive like Bill Mahoney narrates below
(nice!) Efficiency of the RS2 turbo, RS2 em, cold air intake and Stromung
would presumably by negated by my heavy foot-explain that one??? Is the 20v
motor that much more efficient than the 10v (the 5ktq is approx. 700 lbs
lighter than the Avant!)

Subject: [s-cars] Extremely Good Gas Mileage
Folks,
I feel very strongly that I could attain whay better gas mileage numbers if
I could just keep my foot off of the accelerator. Years ago the audi gods
even tried to help by breaking off my pedal. to no avail.
Sometimes in traffic I am able to take my foot off. but then when I see that
ever widening gap between myself and the car in front, that evil doer voice
in my head makes me down shift and trounce on der gas pedal.
There goes my gas mileage, so why am I smiling?
I'm just not right.
Cheer's
