[s-cars] coil packs, ECU

S-men,
Pardon my ignorance but:

1. How are the wires attached to the coil packs.  It looks like a snap on connector but I'll be damned if it will come off.  Or do the coils come with wires attached?
2. If my stumbling, lack of smooth boost problem is my ECU would changing my chip set to non-stock (MTM, or IA for e.g.) likely fix the problem.
