Here's the final sequence of events with the S6 Avant 2113 code.
Tuesday July 27, planned to drive it to NEA, but no start.
Couldn't get anyone to flatbed it all the way to NEA (due
to convention in Boston) so in desperation had it flatbedded
to nearby dealer Pass & Weisz.
Wednesday July 28, P&W call and say tow-driver locked keys
in car. Had them send shuttle guy over to collect spare keys.
Waiting to hear their diagnosis.
Thursday July 29, still waiting to hear.
Friday July 30, call P&W. Service manager tells me they are
still waiting for keys. I point out that their shuttle driver
picked up spare keys two days earlier. He goes off to find
out where keys are.
Monday August 2, P&W service manager calls with diagnosis.
"Car needs at least a main computer, cost $2200". I say
"don't do anything more".
Tuesday August 3, finally get someone willing to flatbed it
to NEA this afternoon.
Wednesday August 4, we stop by NEA around 10:00am on the way
to a few days vacation. They have already replaced the CPS
and the car is up and running. Cost $580. I pick up the car
on our way home a few days later.
Never will darken the doorstep of P&W again.
Guys at NEA are great.
