Folks,
FWIW
Sooo, my mechanic worked on the pig whilst I was on vacation last week
and apparently my oh so addicting 27psi (once tasting 27psi its hard to
be sensible and crank it down to a lesser number;) stretched der head
bolt/s somewhere aroundst cylinder #4 to cause my teenie coolant leak.
Perhaps not surprisingly, this was the same cylinder that blew its coil
a few months back. As a busy guy, my mechanic didn't really have time
to say much more but I will P/U the car tomorrow, find out more and
leave with a lighter wallet. Sorry Hap I opted (chickened) out of the
port polish 5 angle valve job cuz I think the car (dare I say) fast
enough and I still have the fmic to put in.
In retrospect, I suppose it would make big time proper sense to just
install the raceware studs with RS2 EM, turbo and X cam but to do it all
at once would be a tall order. Add to that the timing belt H2O pump and
you could wind up with a car that's Pederhausen Fast (PF)tm. i.e. out
of commission for sometime as in not running.
Now hopefully the car will be ready to head east in a week or so. BUT
before that happens I hafta install the fmic and get the bigger oil
cooler from Earl's and relocate to the old IC position. The question is
which one to get? And what lines are needed? And are there any other
helpful install hints? TIA!
Thanks for listening.
Bill m ~ .half a pack a smokes its dark and I'm wearing sunglasses.
Ready to road trip.
