Boulder & a couple of Colorado jurisdictions have been using photo radar for
speeding violations. I see a fair number of plates these days with covers
of one sort or another over them. I also think I see a substantial
variation in "cover" types, with some appearing to be a "lot" more polarized
&/or opaque than others.
Seems to me vis-à-vis being lasered vs. photo radar, that one is dealing
with two different kinds of light problems. From EisenCorp's advert blurb,
it looks like they deal (or claim to) with this by using two different
components in their plate cover. OTOH, I've had a Boulderite tell me that
they "know" someone who works the traffic control department who has told
him the plate cover defense hasn't been particularly effective against
Boulder's camera system.
I guess I'd like to "dawsonize" the claims. Any one got any first hand dyno
research results for the plate covers vis-à-vis (a) laser and/or (b) photo
radar?
I also hear that by the time you get a cover opaque enough to defeat the
photo systems, your looking at probably being stopped for failing to exhibit
a readable plate on your car.
BTW Mahoney, which head bolts did you Hapersize?
