OK... this is really simple, but you may want to look at a '92 to catch the
full effect.
Pederson brackets:
The '92 S-car has provisions on the subframe for rsb mounts and bushings.
The non rsb cars do not. MLP's brackets bolt directly to the subframe, at the
subframe mounting points (4 bolts, 2 each side), and have the needed mounts for
the rsb mounts and bushings.
John Tilden brackets:
These brackets attach to the control arm, out near the wheel. They connect
the control arm to the end of the swaybar via a heim link. They replace an
Audi part that is a bit weak for the size of Hap's bar. Hap's bar is 26mm,
whereas the stock '92 rear bar is 17mm. Bar stiffness increases exponentially (4th
power) with the diameter of the bar... meaning the HRSB is about 5.5 times
stiffer than the stock unit found in a '92. No wonder the brackets fail from
time to time.
Installing a HRSB:
The rsb can be installed with John's brackets exactly the same way as could
be done with the Audi brackets. If you don't like to drill and tap... weld the
"key" provided with the Pederson brackets, and install.
HTH,
Dave
