[s-cars] Turbo Upgrade?

Gents,

            The Apikol FMIC goes on this week can't wait to report the
results!  Should be good for 25+ HP which I hope satisfies my urge for
"more" power beyond RS2.  I hope for around 350 ATW.

            If it doesn't "totally" satisfy my need..I am looking at a
few options preferably that don't require a change from the RS2 EM.

 

Just a few questions:

-1) Has anyone done a dyno before and after a port and polish of the
head?

            - I have heard it gives you gains in terms of earlier
spool-up and lets the engine breathe better at high RPM's but have not
seen any hard data.

-2) Considering a Garrett T04E 50 Trim with a KKK K26#8 Hot-Side...can
anyone attest that this is a great set-up with not much more lag then
the RS2 turbo?  Or should I consider the smaller hot-side #6 vs. the #8?

            - Other options that don't require custom manifold or DP?

-3) Going to work on eliminating all negative boost via a modification
of the stock airbox per the autospeed article.  I believe I can
accomplish this by removing the stock plumbing (already done) and having
3" mandrel plumbing with a 5" flared end sitting on top of the oil
cooler.  Not sure that I need to modify the airbox itself.  BTW..does
anyone have the negative boost article archived somewhere..they are
charging now to view the entire article.

 

I am shooting for the high 300 HP ATW (380-390)...my bottom-end has
Pauter rods.
