Hello my name is Paul and it's been 15 hours 7 minutes since my Quattro
broke...

I've got a very loud front end pop going on now almost always, as described
above. Happens when I'm say doing a 3 point turn in reverse and the wheels
go to full lock when at or near stop. If it doesn't happen then, it will
once the wheels are then turned full lock the other way and I begin to go
forward again.

It's so audible the Biff and Muffy were laughing at me as I backed my POS
Audi out of the spot in front of the hoytytoyty MB dealer, actually echoed
off the building. Rossato says his seems to be doing the same, and as he
rightly sums up "it is very disconcerting". Um, YEAH it is!

Here's the rub: threw the hoar on a lift yest., tech checked everything,
all's good in da hood. WTF? Bullshit, something's wrong, but what?

New L&R outer and inner control arm bushings / sleeves / hardware this
spring, as well as strut top mounts and swaybar bushings. New strut tower
bearings when I did the suspension 6/02. Checked tightness of Bilstein
sport collars too, all's good. Looked for steering rack mount cracks,
nothing. Everything's snug as a bug, subframe, steering box pre load, etc.

WTF? Anyone shed any insight here pleeeze? F'n front end is driving me up
a wall... snows went on car Sunday and now front end shudders soooooo
freaking violently from 95-85 on deceleration it's advisable to not exceed
80 (fine below 85, and not overly bad if I stay ON the gas, otherwise it's
loud and violent). Tech suspected a wheel out of balance, which I'll try
this week. Also front end feels like it's falling off sometimes when I go
over driveway-to-road seams or manhole covers, etc. Can be felt while
crusing as a slight tap-tap-tap into the palm of my hand on the wheel
(Swanson you felt this).

Danka.

ps. anyone know of any northeastern '86-'87 4kq's FS by chance? A commuter
to defray my 22k / yr. may be in order 8-)
