Or the wrong thermostat.  The 87 degree t-stat is 
correct; do not use the 82 degree t-stat.  BTDT in 
the Coupe Q.

One thing that can provide for rich running 
conditions is a stuck open 
thermostat.
It never really lets the engine get to that 
temperature that it wants to 
see.
I found that it does affect mileage drastically, and 
will cause that rich 
condition.
