Which/what sensor(s) did your mechanic "clean"?

By "clean" what do you mean?  Did he actually scrub something off the
sending unit, or "clean" off the electrical contacts, or ???  Did he do
anything with or to the throttle position sensors?

I think some of the above information might help with some guessing about
what could be causing the problem.  Oh, and can you check the temperatures
your motor is seeing via the Air conditioning's engine temperature monitor &
the dash gauge.  I'm not sure you can put a lot of reliability in a narrow
band A/F gauge.
