Since I am taunting the list a lot today, I may as well continue. Before we bought our S6 avant we test drove a V70R AWD wagon. We had a 740 turbo wagon many years before ever owning a quattro. It was chipped, had big swaybars, gas shocks, and went very well. We loved the way it handled and the reliability. In the snow it was pitiful and that's when we discovered quattro.
 
At the time,  the wifes A6 quattro wagon had 180k on it and we decided to upgrade. Sorry to say, the Volvo was a major let down. It had a slushbox and from a standstill very unimpressive. The stereo was cool though:) We didn't like the cheezy fuzzy covering on the steering wheel either. We drove the S6 avant the next week and were totally impressed. 
 
The S6 avant saga continued for 3 years and 75k miles. We chipped it and that was about it. Ran great at 155k when we parted ways with it for the Dodge Magnum Hemi AWD. A very fair upgrade for us.
