I agree with George!

I tried a top of the line S60 copy baseball glove imitation interior/green
ext fugly example last spring.  The car did not feel like 300 hp and the
interior was very plastic.  The S60 is a bit smaller than the S4's.  I was
not tempted to switch after the test drive.

Rich, I put few (2500+) miles on V70R (Hertz issue though) and it does not,
even remotely, compare with my old 185k miles S6 Avant (granted S had Abt
suspension and Lehmann setup) ... but even with my old 92 S4 with MTM I+
Volvo was not even remotely comparable. Family car, yeah ... road feel,
handling - nope. Comfort on long trip in Volvo - forget it comparing with
the recaros... you get out and you will look for back replacement ....

Volvo brakes from 120 down to sixtish outright scary, even few repeated 90
to 60 created brake fade causing my b-meter getting pretty tight. There is
nothing interesting in the Swedish box, plasticky look/feel dash, sound
system (premium according the manual) just plainly sucked  .....

I know I'm going to hear about this but - try it yourself ...

A friend of mine recently sold his S6 Avant and got a V70R to replace it. He
loves the thing and I've got to say it's very comparable to my modified S6.
The suspension, brakes and engine power are very much like the middle of the
road upgrades for the s-cars.  It really is a nicely balanced package, just
needs the exhaust opened up.
