It is a good car. My friend just bought a 2005 Legacy GT 5-speed a 
couple of mos ago per <... gulp...> my advice to replace his aging 2001 
A4 1.8t quattro 5-speed with 100k trouble-free miles.

In a nutshell: it kicks the A4's butt in the performance dept yet it is 
a far cry from it in the refinement and fit and finish dept.

However if I were to buy a new car today I'd buy the Legacy in a 
heartbeat now that the new A6 is a turbo-less manual-less joke of a car.

Or a a second Allroad, while they are still available.
