[s-cars] heated seats

Christian,

BTDT a few weeks ago on my S6. Not a fun job. The repair is complicated,
but it is reasonably easy to figure out what needs to be done. You will
need a pair of hog ring pliers, some trim cement and a staple gun...oh yeah,
and the $192 seat heater element.

I had intended to do a write-up, but there were soooo many steps that it
just wasn't feasible. I did post a series of three posts about it on
AuidWorld, but my posts consist largely of bitching (do a search for "my a$$
is cold").

Of course, I am assuming that the bottom heater element is bad, but this
should be tested prior to attacking your seat. The easiest way is to ohm
out the two elements, one in the backrest, and one on the bottom.

I'm new to the list and just bought a '94 S4, which I
love, but the driver's seat heater doesn't work. Does
anyone have experience with this? Is this something I
can fix on my own?
