I have a set of Johns brackets on the Avant and I can't imagine why anyone
would go with the stock bracket when there is a nice one like his for sale.
Think about it, your driving your car hard one day and your going to fast around
a corner, if that stock bracket breaks at that point it might unsettle the
car enough to loose control. Hmm, $50 is pretty cheap for that kind of
insurance. Thanks John,
Elijah

Hi Cody,
Your photos look pretty familiar!
I guess it's time to storm the files with my replacement brackets again.
It looks like enough time has passed that some people have not heard about
my "Improved Rear Swaybar Brackets".
Your photos tell the story, the original lower brackets for the Rear Sway
Bar are adequate for the factory 17mm sway bars, but when you put on a HRSB,
25 mm in diameter, these original brackets fail in a short time due to
fatigue failure from repeated loads in excess of the original design.
I have designed a more robust bracket which puts the mounting bolt in double
shear and increases the amount of metal carrying the loads into the rear
wheel carrier. Putting the bolt into double shear effectively takes out the
bending moment which is likely what causes the original bracket to fail.
Increasing the cross section of metal which now carries primarily shear
loads further reduces the stresses in the new improved bracket.
See the photos at:

In order:
1. View of the kit and its contents
2. View of the Bracket assembled with the HRSB down link and Bolts
3. View of Left side installation on my car (95.5 Avant)
4. View of Assembled bracket with a pair of broken factory brackets.
Those of you who have installed a HRSB, these brackets install in the same
manner that the factory brackets install. The Early cars, '92 and the Avants
are bolt in as shown in photo 3 described above. All other installations
will require some welding as the original brackets did.
I have delivered about 15 sets to date to a number of listers, any of you
who have installed a set feel free to comment. I have heard very little
comment to date, how do they work for you?
If you are interested in acquiring a set of these for your HRSB
installations please feel free to inquire at the address noted below.
The price is $50.00 plus shipping, UPS 3 day typically is less that $14.00
anywhere in the US.
Foreign orders will be shipped by US Postal Mail service.
Thanks,
John
