[s-cars] Fuel pump noise?

In my experience, I replaced my whining pump a few years ago after it had
been whining for years but only during the hot summer months. What we found
was a saran wrap type of gunk partially clogging the intake screen on the
pump. Don't know if this was the tank lining breaking down and floating
around, eventually ending up on the screen. Regardless, new pump, no noises
hot or cold anymore.
