Nobody told us that Boston was in the process of getting 10 inches of snow.

We got stuck in traffic on the Merritt near Fairfield, crept along for a
good 45 minutes while a variety of numbknutzes tried to slide slip up a
minor incline.

The roads *were* awfully clippery, pretty icy. The snow fell and froze on
the roadway making a pretty good ice covering. Some cars just could not make

it up the incline, including one new MB coupe. His rear wheels just spun.

I was following a Subie and he and I just motored right around the carnage.

After that it picked up a bit. The Merritt up to 91 was a mess, but
fortunately most of the traffic was stuck on that hill.

84 eastbound to Sturbridge had packed powder, and was also pretty slippery,
but by then it was late and there wasn't much traffic, so we made okay time.

The Mass Pike at 12:30 was just wet...we ended up getting home...and stuck
in my driveway, at 1 PM. I took a good run (backwards) at the pile of snow
at the end of the driveway, but got stuck (highspotted) in a 14" drift. Some

quick work with the shovel and the A6 was back safe in my garage.

Whee!

Heh, thanks Lee. I've been patiently awaiting some ohsomuch needed and
decidedly pent up Quattro Haiku here. We've thus far been sans appreciable
snow around these parts and I'm feeling a jones. I know some of you out
there have been getting clobbered and hoped I'd hear some 'wheeee haa!'
stories 8-). The trip to the hospital for the babies to come was my only
snow outing thus far, and that was in the new ML, which reads: not a
4wdrifting enjoyable time me thinks. I got yelled at. Alot.

For now, Jim Pasq. bought over his newly FMIC'd 5ktq last night again for
strategic dirtroad romps aimlessly around town last night. Filled the jones
good, was good to unleash some madness. Which leads me to some Quattro
Haiku to welcome in the New Year:

Rear bumper points the way
Tornado Red terror who'd think
4kq mit Hakks comes soon
