I took the the dimensions off of Trevor Frank's
remanufactured heims. New LONGER bar stock with right
AND left hand threads. Center to center is 6 inches
with rod ends fully engaged. Much more clearance and
adjustability and less thread showing to minimize
flex. Also, the stock bar has locating humps that the
bushings wrap around that keep it from creeping
sideways. I bought some 26mm collars that wrap around
the bar and "locate" it against the bushings. FYI,
with the additional stresses of the big bar, the stock
"keys" are too weak to handle the shear load, broke
them 3 times and I know 3 other people that did same.
I bought the modified keys and everything seems fine.
If you want the sources for all these bits let me
know.
Happy New Year
