Just so you know, the AAN was the intro of the metal head gasket for audi 20vt (read ALL AAN motor cars had metal head gaskets from the factory).  So, I don't think the below is true.  The 3B was the only 20vt to run the fibre head gasket, and it was also rated at 9.3:1.  I doubt that changing the 3B to the metal gasket does a darn thing to the CR (beyond normal production tolerance).  Then again the fibre head gasket for the 3B has been superceded to the metal head gasket at audi, and even the aftermarket has switched to metal head gaskets.
