FYI, the 3B, ABY, ADU & AAN share the same part numbers for:
pistons & Ring set (034 107 065 M)
head casting (034 103 351 N)
head gasket (048 103 383 AD)
The 1994 Performance Car test of the RS2 said CR was 9.0. I suspect they
rounded the number (shame on them for implied accuracy by reporting it
to the tenths). The only other explanation could be that the RS2 had
extra head work done to un-shroud the valves.

Minhea:
Just so you know, the AAN was the intro of the metal head gasket for
audi 20vt (read ALL AAN motor cars had metal head gaskets from the
factory). So, I don't think the below is true. The 3B was the only
20vt to run the fibre head gasket, and it was also rated at 9.3:1. I
doubt that changing the 3B to the metal gasket does a darn thing to the
CR (beyond normal production tolerance). Then again the fibre head
gasket for the 3B has been superceded to the metal head gasket at audi,
and even the aftermarket has switched to metal head gaskets.
