[s-cars] Oil Pan Needed - 95.5 S6

Ya, oil pans, transmissions, cases and anything really that is cast and
has oil in it can be a pain. It really needs to be soaked for a while
in some good solvent, then heated up and maybe soaked again. You also
have to pre-heat it so that you keep the shrinking to a minimum, it is
also best to keep it in the 300C range or below as a whole while you are
welding it. The best IMHO is to short arc MIG it.

Just for the record, aluminum is very easy to weld.
You can MIG weld it or TIG weld it. As long as you have shielding gas it
a
no brainier.
In my first welding attempt, I was able to weld together 8" al pipe to
form
the floats for my dock at the cottage.
Air tight in one try... not to pat my own back or anything, but if I ca
do
it anyone can :-)
