Works just fine. You do not need custom hats, though that means you have to
accept the heavy, not-as-well vented Audi OEM rotor. It's not perfectly
centered--if you want that, simply mill 1mm off the RS2 bracket where it bolts
to the strut/hub housing, but not critical--I didn't bother. Remember that the
RS2 used a Porsche rotor at 32mm thick instead of the A8L's 30mm thick rotor.

As for 993tt vs 996 caliper (do you mean 996tt caliper?), as noted, 2-piece vs
monobloc. All the new caliper designs from Brembo are monobloc--stiffer,
lighter?, stronger?

Pricing...are they really that close? I'm not a member of BIRA, so never heard
what their bracket pricing was (I don't know why pricing is subject to the
NDA--how do you market something without letting people know the costs?) but
I've also heard the hats for the 2-piece rotor setups are a lot more than $55
each (what I paid for A8L rotors) plus buy the 993tt rotor

FWIW, you don't need (or want) the dampers Gary mentions if you plan to swap
out pads on a regular basis (i.e. track vs street)...they stick to the back of
the pads and until the pads are worn enough, make it difficult to remove pads
unless you unbolt the caliper from the bracket. FWIW2, the 77mm "cheesehead"
(allen head) bolts attaching the caliper to the bracket are considered
consumable by Porsche, to be replaced each time the caliper comes off. At
$3-$4 each (need 4), not a big expense--buy spares.
