Bill,

IMHO, the most likely source for a loss of oil that severe would be the oil
pressure switch located on the driver's side of the block below cylinder
number 2. This leak can sometimes go undetected because the wire attached
to the switch has a rubber boot which hides the leak.

Folks,

My poor sister wintering over in Sarasota reports that she seems to be
losing oil on a regular basis. Exactly how much and how quickly I do
not know, but she reports her oil light keeps going on, she adds a quart
and is then good for maybe a few days to a week.?? She claims that she
cannot see any visible leaks and she doesn't see exhaust smoke.

I know some oil generally leaks out the valve cover back and some blows
thru the intake.

What are the other likely things to check here?

She'll be taking it over to Joe Hoppen's secret Italian repair fellow
soon, but it would be nice to have the "appearance" of knowing what the
problem may be.

Any thoughts appreciated.

TIA

Cheer's

Bill M
