Good luck...........
The springs will lower the car, they will certainly add stiffness that may
shorten the life of other parts.
The shocks may become loose in the struts over time, I am not sure that
Bilstein cares to work this one out.
The strut top will require some form of modification or additional piece in
order to get proper camber so as to not trash the inside edges of your 300
dollar tires. Speaking from experience you may ask ? Well I will let you
decide that.
Is it worth the grief and additional stress on car and wallet, YES.
Would I do it all over, why YES.
Welcome to the edge of the slipper slope, come on in and please bring your
wallet. By the end of it all you will be into coil overs and custom front
and rear sway bars. But don't be afraid.. it's all good.
( Damn I'm wacky today)

Subject: [s-cars] Eibach/Bilstein Upgrade on S6 Avant
I'll be dropping off my S6 Avant this weekend for a suspension upgrade and I
just want get the list's feedback on any issues or information I can give to
my wrench.
He'll be installing Eibach Pro kit 1529.140E as well as Bilstein
F4-B46-2066HO
and F4-P36-0369HO. The springs came with some kind of spacer to maintain
ride
height, I believe. He will then be aligning the car.
I would like to keep the stock height or minimize lowering of the car. I
also
would like this to be an install that does not need any maintenance (like
the
stock setup), be noise-free, etc for >100k miles.
Any tips to make this an esay install and lessen chance of future problems
would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
