Q1. That's the way it's meant to work. After 5 (I think) days
of idleness, the system will not respond to the remote. The
response can be reactivated by manually locking/unlocking the
doors as you did. This is to protect against stolen remotes
being used to steal the vehicle. It's in the manual somewhere.
