One more thing...
 
If you have the car jacked up on one side only, the torsion bar will be exerting a very strong uplift on the control arm and therefore the ball joint.  I had both sides of the car supported on jack stands with the wheel hubs hanging.  Even then you may have to provide some lift to the hub in order to relieve any upward pressure from the torsion bar.
