[s-cars] Tach signal

One option would be to put the inductive clamp on one
of the wires between the POS outputs and the coils.
The current there is about 100 times the current on
the coil secondary outputs, so there should not be a problem
of getting enough signal. If anything, there may be too
much signal, but I think you should be OK.
The Dynostar literature says you can also trigger off of
the "spark drive output from the ECU" or the "-" terminal
on the coil using the red clip lead input connector.
In our cars those would be the same signals as the POS inputs
and outputs, respectively. In either case, you would need to
set the Dynostar software to 0.5 sparks per revolution.

Subject: [s-cars] Tach signal
Is there a tach signal that can be reached and if so where and what is
it, I.E. frequency output or a linear voltage? On the ecu pin outs? At
worst I suspect it could be taken off of the back of the tach. If
someone was going to use an inductive clamp where to use it, since we
don't have any spark plug wires. Take it easy on me, I am not an EE, so
use small words please, thanks.
Right so why do I want this, well I have purchased a dynostar data
acquisition / 2axis accelerometer with gps, basically a road dyno. If I
can get the rpm then I can get torque.
I would also be interested in a wheel speed sensor that I could tap into
& tapping into the map sensor output.
If this all gets working it would be a pretty powerful system to use in
tuning chips for our cars.
