I did the T-belt one time on the S4 and I can't imagine how a lift would
have helped.  Maybe doing something like the crank seal from the bottom
would be easier, but I'd guess that you'd spend more time messing with the
lift that you'd save by using it.  On the other hand, it sure would have
been nice to have a lift when I did the e-brake cable!
