What's your local dealer suggesting is the appropriate "price" for these
(IMPE) plus the turbo to downpipe studs & nuts rather costly parts? As I
recall, @ 3 years ago I think the dealer was asking for something like @
$10+ each - @ $80+ for four nuts with studs. As Mae West would say, don't
loose or abuse your studs, or nuts ..... BTW, the parts desk justification
for the cost, "These must be made of very special stuff...." I know the
nuts at least are a special copper colored steel, but I couldn't get anyone
to tell me, or even guess what that might mean. As an alternative I tried
going to a specialty fastener shop in Denver. Their catalog listed a few,
pretty costly but no where near as dear as the Audi dealerships, aircraft
spec nuts for high temperature applications. They had no listings however
for studs in any special high temp steel application - maybe such things
don't exist.
