Even on a dealer plate the insurance company will not pay out on a claim.A close friend of mine had a Mitsubishi Evo 7 here in the U.S. and was driving it on dealer plates. When he was involved in a fender bender, the dealer's ins. co. refused to pay, not only for the Evo, but also for the damage done to the other party's car. Needless to say, my friend was sued and had to payfor both cars out of his pocket. He was lucky that there were no injuries.Mike Sylvester'95 S6 avant-----------------------I called the guy about the S2 Avant, here is what the story is:

1. The car is bought and will ship in a container; taxable selling price was $100.00 ... low import tax.

2. The car will not be converted to U.S.; my understanding is that it cannot be done economically, the seller commented that I could work a deal with a used car dealer and have it listed in their inventory and then pay the dealer to allow me to drive the car using dealer plates ... ie. not titled, therefore, not needing to meet U.S. Specifications.

3. My insurance company would not insure the car. The seller recommended having the dealer include the car in their insurance and pay for its coverage through them...

4. Ebay start price was $15,000 ... wanted 18,500.

Needless to say, I will keep my S6 and I bought my wife a used A4 1.8T.
