[s-cars] Alternatives to RS2 Injectors

Davie F, Robin Minhea et al.,

I know of a number of cars, both on and off this list, that have switched
over to, and are running with alternative injectors supplied by RC
Engineering. RC can supply either Bosch injectors, or their own "in-house"
brand. In RS2 mode, I believe RC's injector of choice is a 370cc/min rated
unit, which local lore has it, may actually be capable of pushing more fuel,
if required, than equivalent Bosch units. Two sets of the OEM Audi/Bosch
units were sent to RC sometime ago, who for a small fee, "verified" the
injector's delivery rates at @ 280 cc/min and 360 cc/min @ at "standard"
fuel pressure setting for "rating" purposes of 3 Bar (i.e. 43.5psi)

Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough at the time to ask RC if they could
also give me some kind of reading on, or information about the OEM injectors
fuel delivery "pattern." I've no idea if, with respect to the AAN's
injectors, there might be some Audi specific, or semi-unique secret to
optimization of injector spray pattern. I hear, but don't know for a fact,
that there are unique, or perhaps better said, optimized features to the
spray patterns for the 2.7L S4TT injectors ~ i.e., some 2.7TT motor
injectors are claimed to be better than others.

If you are interested, Russ Collins (I presume the "RC" in R. C.
Engineering, has a very good article/write up that's been posted on a number
of websites on various fuel injectors, types and their use and design, and
FWIW how they are "tested."

>From my researches, RC seems to be uniformly pretty highly regarded and
respected in the fuel injection business as a company that knows what it's
doing.
