I'm going to imagine for now that the highest percentage of this group that
have done a suspension modification have gone with Bilstein Sports. I am also
going to speculate that all of us appreciate the feel of the ride of the urS4/6
more than the handling. Given these suppositions, here's what's going on in
Evahboost. I just picked up my car from Autosport Werks after leaving it with
them for 3 weeks. On the to do list for Dave Jones and Brendan Rudak was a
total overhaul of my fuel delivery system, some more replumbing of the charge air
system, bits of welding here and there, and pull the Bilstein Sports so they
could be shipped to Bilstein for revalving.

Back in November I ventured out to California to join Brian Billotti, Trevor
Frank, Christopher Leal, and Javad Shadzi for the ACNA Nationals at Sears
Point. This was the first time I had this car at the track. The car's performance
was stunning to say the least. Sears Point was an excellent venue to discover
any flaws that a car might exhibit. My car had Bilstein Sports all around,
200lb Eibach Prokits in front, and 400lb Eibach coil-overs in the rear. In
addition I have the 2nd generation 2Bennett soild spherical camber/caster plates and
the Happersized 26mm rear sway bar. Based on a drive with Danny Gallati at
the wheel, he suggested a slight increase in compression and a major increase in
rebound for my shock settings. My impressions were that the car was good but
could it be better? I corresponded with this list and thanks go out to Ray
Tomlinson, Steve Barnes, and Linus Toy for their suggestions. Thanks also to
Brian Billotti and Trevor Frank for their help as well. What I came up with was to
increase the compression by 10% and increase the rebound by 30%.

The results at first impression are spot on. I have not lost the urS feel but
have tightened the ride up just enough. I really like the feel of the rebound
going over bumps. The car just stops the pitching moments. If anyone with
Bilstein Sports is feeling that their suspension is getting a little tired, by
all means send them to Bilstein for a rebuild and revalving. If anyone in the
current spring group buy is going with Bilstein Sports, send them to Bilstein
for the revalving first. A hard drive impression is not feasible with the Nokian
WR snow tires mounted. There is another snow storm predicted for Evahboost
and Denver this weekend so maybe next week I'l be able to throw on the Toyo T1Ss
for some more impressions. I plan on another post to talk of the fueling
upgrade by itself. Thanks again to Dave Jones and Brendan Rudak of Autosport Werks
for their help in making this happen.

Hap, properly suspended in Evahboost, Maguire
