Bob,
Is the power going on and off or does it feel like the turbo cut off
completely? I ask because I had a problem last summer that I described
as "bucking", what was happening to me was that at ~4K rpm if I was
under hard acceleration it would "buck"..and it felt like the power
just completely went away. If I acceleratted slowly I was fine.
What my problem ended up being was the MAF was falsely telling the ECU
that I was in an overboost situation and cutting off the fuel.
Unfortunately the ECU didn't throw off a code to lead me in this
direction for quite some time. When it did I found the info I needed on
the http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/ site.
Luckily for me cleaning the contacts on the MAF and the connector
solved my problem, otherwise Iw as going to need a new MAF.
