[s-cars] Why does it do that?

Doug, I can turn mine off by hitting the lower left button on the climate
control.
I suppose they program it to be on for a few reasons.
1) That way the climate control can do it's job and cool and dehumidify
should it need to and,
2) If the compressor runs all the time it is LESS prone to seizure.

Perhaps this was / is Audi's way of preventive matenience.
Or I could just be full of it :-)
