[s-cars] fogged windows

Lee,
I just went through this on my 95.5 S6 Avant too. I
noticed when it first started getting cold that I
couldn't switch the airflow from the floor to the
windshield. Turns out one of the two electric motors
in the dash was bad. The VAGCOM software looking at
the HVAC DTCs showed the trouble. I replaced the
motor, which was a huge PITA, and all is well.
Motor 1 (driver's side with blue arms) changes if the
airflow goes to the panel or not. Motor 2 (passenger
side with red arms), if the airflow is not going to
the panel, changes if the airflow goes to the
windshield or the dash. Motor 2 was the bad one on my
car.
Good luck,
Rich
