[s-cars] Alternator Problems

I read the digests, so you might have got ananswer already, but here goes..
You have to take the alternator out of the car and have the commutators (or more true; rings) turned by a shop (or of you can do it, yourself..) 
It's also nice to change the bearings while youre at it, I had the same done this summer, after about 200'kms, and the generator is as good as new. 
You can get new brushes for the most recent regulator at a machine/electric shop, so don't throw it away..
