[s-cars] cooling problem and question

After 20 minutes of highway driving your oil temp should be at 100 C and
your engine temp at 90 C (four bars on the gauge for you poor deprived souls
who didn't get gauges with numbers). If your oil temp is at 60 C and your
engine temp is cold, I'd suspect your thermostat is stuck open. If only one
temp gauge read cold and the other was OK, I'd suspect the gauge or sender.

Subject: [s-cars] cooling problem and question

Hey,
I have some questions/concerns about my engine temperature.

I drive my car everyday and usually use it in durations extending over 20
minutes at one time. Strangely, my water temperature gauge continues to
read
cold (sitting on righter most cold black bar) and never moves past that.
Also I
live in Boston so i wanted to know if anyone else in the area is
experiencing
this or if its my car

Is this normal or do I have a cooling problem?
Could my engine be warm but my water temp. gauge off?
oil also reads around 60 degrees C but I don't know much about oil temp (oil
pressure is normal though). And also, I've been getting only about 255
miles
per tank, and in this temp. i haven't been able to drive it hard so that
seems
particularly low to me. any help would be great, thx
