yep, just did this. using a wire hanger, you're probing around the front passenger side into the grill, looking for the latch cable. When you get that and give it a good tug, you'll release the hood locks, provided the cause is the clips that hold the cable taught. Once they break, from heat fatigue / failure, the cable goes limp and won't open the latches. Then use a nylon tie to secure the cable in the few spots where the clips were (I'd actually like to order the correct clips, but not right now) before you close the bonnet again. Wrap the end of the wire hanger / hook with something soft, like electrical tape or something, because probing in there can rip the underhood fabric, which is also brittle with heat fatigue also, BTDT.
