[s-cars] Pinging w/MTM 1+

Bob-
It was my understanding that MTM 1+ was designed for 98 RON fuel,
not 95. That's the problem- 98 is pretty high and we don't get really
good fuel everywhere. Too bad, I'd love to have affordable 100 octane
fuel at the pumps.

Am I just lucky? I have had no problem with pinging using the MTM 1+
chips
while running mostly 93 octane fuel in my '95 urS6. It did get a rare
fill
up with 94 but that was rare.
BTW, the RON and MON numbers are simply rating numbers 93 (RON + MOM)/2
is
the very same fuel as 95 RON. RON rating and MON ratings on the very
same
fuel are always different numbers with the RON rating always a higher
numeric value than the MON rating number. This means that the RON
number
for any specific fuel will always be a higher number than the (R+M)/2
rating FOR THE SAME FUEL. 95 RON and 93 (RON + MON)/2 are equivalent.
